How it works

If you're commissioning a painting of your special friend (or friends), have a think about what you want in general terms. Just one bike, or a composition of several? In a real setting, or against an abstract background? Small or large (see Prices and payment)?

Then drop me a line at bespokebikeportraits@gmail.com. You can tell me roughly what you want, or I can make some suggestions. You'll need to send me a picture to work from too, or preferably a couple. It's easiest to just email digital pics, but if you have an old-school printed photo that you particularly like then by all means send that if you can't scan it. I'll give you the postal address if you need it.

We'll agree what I'm going to do for you, then it'll all go quiet while I get on with it. This normally takes a couple of weeks, but it can be longer if I'm particularly busy. If you have a definite deadline (a birthday, say) let me know as early as possible so that I can make sure that your pic's ready. Alternatively you can get a gift voucher, which I'll email and the lucky recipient can get in touch to order their painting.

When the picture's complete I'll send you a photo of it for approval. Hopefully you'll be pleased as punch, so you'll pay and I'll send your picture by Royal Mail Special Delivery faster than you can shift up the block on Dura-Ace Di2. If you're not happy, you don't pay. Simple.

Let's just summarise that in case you fell into a velo-based reverie.
  1. Think about what you want: which bike(s) and where? Or just email bespokebikeportraits@gmail.com to order a gift voucher for someone else.
  2. Email bespokebikeportraits@gmail.com with a couple of pictures (or to get the postal address to send hard copy pics) and let me know what you'd like.
  3. We'll agree what I'm going to produce, how much it'll cost and when it'll be finished.
  4. I'll send you a photo of the piece when it's done for you to approve.
  5. Assuming that you like it, you'll pay and I'll despatch.
